The backplate fixing centres of 211mm allow for a larger handle, which can often be a benefit when replacing a faulty or worn multi point door lock mechanism. These levers for handles are also spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of handles hanging from their horizontal position when they are not in use.
When selecting a replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is important to match the dimensions of the PZ of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. This measurement is often referred to as the handle centre or 'cylinder centres' and is a critical aspect of matching up the appropriate handles.

Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are usually found on uPVC doors, but they can also be used on other types of doors. Cylinder locks are operated by using a key that unlocks the cylinder case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned to the pins in the lock, and permit them to turn the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins with internal and external doors typically having different levels of security.
The choice of the correct cylinder is vitally important; this is dependent on the way your doors and handle are utilized. For instance, doors that are external require a more secure cylinder whilst internal doors can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. Some cylinders have extra features that can increase security, like anti drill or anti bump properties.
A euro cylinder should be measured accurately to ensure that it is the right size for your door. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn if there is one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place, but when this isn't possible, you may take it off to measure. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon could be susceptible to attacks like snapping locks, so it is essential that it's not too long.
